As a Commercial Portfolio Manager I– CSG Corporate Mortgage Finance (CMF) you will be responsible for monitoring clients’ compliance with the terms of CMF Lending facilities, ensuring compliance with HNB’s record keeping requirements, preparing spreads, risk ratings and underwriting primarily Corporate Mortgage Finance facilities.
The CMFG Portfolio Manager I requires 2 years of commercial credit experience preferably within corporate mortgage finance or other specialty finance industry; proven communication and collaboration skills and excellent organizational skills.
This position reports to the Portfolio Management Team Leader.
In this role, as a Portfolio Manager I, you will be performing the following responsibilities:
- Portfolio Management:
- Prepare underwriting analysis primarily for bilateral warehouse facilities and assist Portfolio Managers as needed with more complex credit requests to include both bilateral and syndicated MSR facilities as well as larger, syndicated warehouse facilities.
- Spread financials in support of new opportunities and as needed or required for ongoing monitoring.
- Monitor closed facilities for compliance with covenants as well as reviewing for trends. Provide Immediate communication of suspected credit problems or credit deterioration.
- Effectively utilize Bank reporting, record keeping and underwriting systems, tools and processes to maintain accurate and timely CMF portfolio level detail.
- Ensure that the group’s credit files are maintained in an organized manner and in line with the Policies and Procedures of the CMF group.
- Monitor deadlines across the portfolio to support timely preparation of risk ratings and coordination of annual reviews.
- Establish proficiency with the Bank’s closing system to efficiently process approval requests for the group within the Bank’s system of record.
- Download information from syndicated facility deal sites and save to appropriate location for team use.
- Increase understanding with respect to MSR facilities in terms of borrowing base reviews, underwriting requirements and legal structures in order to increase the level of support for the group’s MSR facility maintenance and underwriting.
- Credit Quality: Responsible for ensuring timely and accurate spreading of financial statements, compliance monitoring and trend analysis consistent with the policies and procedures of the Bank. Responsible for credit quality for assigned portfolio consistent with the Bank and CMFG credit policies, procedures, and guidelines as evidenced by satisfactory loan reviews and audits of assigned portfolio.
- Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, management, internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective communication, collaboration and problem solving.
- Reporting and Compliance: Prepare regular and ad hoc portfolio reporting for the group and on an as needed Basis.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree
- 2+ years of relevant commercial credit experience
Preferred Experience:
- Portfolio Management experience ideally within the mortgage finance industry or other specialty finance areas
- Experience with the relevant credit analysis and cash flow assessments, documentation and surveillance standards for mortgage banking entities.
- Formal credit training and/or experience
- Strong knowledge of the GAAP principles applied to mortgage banking entities
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution

Compensation Range:
$63,000.00 - $124,000.00 Annual Salary
The compensation range represents the low and high end of the base compensation range for this position. Actual compensation will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. Colleagues in this position are also eligible to participate in an applicable incentive compensation plan.
