Requirements
  • 7+ years of working in environmental advocacy, community engagement, consulting, NGOs, or other direct experience working in or with community groups and/or researchers, including program implementation, project management, and business development
  • A love of meeting new people, and service leadership
  • Strong desire and track record in implementing technical and scientific programs
  • Experience with rolling-up sleeves and taking ownership end-to-end
  • Deep familiarity with CBOs, Environmental Justice organizations, and the climate advocacy ecosystem
  • Outstanding written, verbal, and presentation skills
  • High level of drive and resourcefulness, creativity, and adaptability
  • Strong sense of loyalty, teamwork and high personal integrity
  • A hunger to learn everything there is to know about Aclima's products, customers, strategy, and the markets we're serving
Responsibilities
  • Identify, build, and maintain trusted relationships with community and thought leaders in new and existing Aclima markets through regular check-ins with partners and potential partners
  • Work across virtually all teams at Aclima, including Business Development, Communications, Product/Design, Engineering, and Operations, to play a key role in shaping Aclima's products to expand the scale and reach of our impact
  • Develop, communicate and implement specific strategies for engaging with CBOs and other relevant stakeholders in every new Aclima geography
  • Be responsible for community engagement in new key geographies, such as New York State, where you will liaise across multiple stakeholder groups, including grassroots community-based organizations, large NGOs, regulators' community engagement teams, elected officials, and applied researchers
  • Manage customer happiness for CBOs using Aclima products and ensure maximum benefits for CBOs, developing programs, strategies and providing feedback to government partners
  • Support CBOs in effectively utilizing Aclima's tools and datasets to engage with elected officials and regulators to design and implement data-driven policies
  • Identify ways to improve ways in which Aclima serves communities, including efforts like hiring from at-risk populations
  • Work with Aclima leadership to implement our community grant program (yet to be announced)
  • Coordinate regular check-ins with national EJ and climate leaders on the Aclima Advisory Board
  • Partner with CBOs and research institutions to identify opportunities for partnerships, scope proposals and work with the Aclima BD team to submit for funding
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in the sustainability or climate tech ecosystem
  • Relationships in mayor's offices across the US
  • MBA and/or graduate degree in relevant disciplines
