  • 10+ years of experience in a senior accounting position in a growing company from a relevant industry (consumer products, retail, beauty); prior experience with a Big 4 public accounting firm is preferred. 5+ years of team management and leadership experience
  • Active CPA (or similar professional accreditation) is a must
  • NetSuite experience preferred
  • Proficiency with using Excel to manipulate and analyze financial statements and related data
  • Desire and ability to coach, mentor, and develop team members and help them realize their full potential
  • Deep experience with best practices related to areas of revenue recognition, fixed assets, inventory accounting, cost accounting, payroll, tax, technical accounting, treasury and compliance with US GAAP standards
  • Solid foundation with Sarbanes-Oxley
  • High degree of comfort with multi-currency accounting and global company consolidations
  • Strong communication skills and a history of working cross-functionally to build positive relationships with people and teams across a diverse organization
  • Self-starter with a willingness to roll up your sleeves and dive deep as needed. High attention to detail and focus on accuracy and accountability in a fast-paced environment
  • Proven success in driving process implementations and improvements
Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage of all aspects of accounting and controllership activities for the company
  • Prepare and review all accounting transactions (A/R, A/P, Journal Entries, Fixed Assets, Accrual, prepaid, Intercompany transactions, etc.)
  • Deliver timely and accurate monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and management reporting in compliance with US GAAP standards
  • Build on strong foundations, seeking process improvements that will increase the accuracy and timeliness of financial close
  • Maintain and document internal accounting controls and procedures
  • Lead external audit process and issuance of GAAP financial statements
  • Act as primary interface between the company and our banking partners
  • As Glossier continues to scale and evolve, guide financial decision making by ensuring the development and adoption of strong accounting policies and procedures that comply with best practices
  • Provide and seek out guidance on relevant domestic and international regulations across the US, Canada and the UK and ensure compliance with reporting requirements
  • Oversee the Company's global tax structure, intercompany agreements, and compliance
  • Ensure Glossier complies with federal, state and local legal requirements by understanding existing and new legislation, future legislation, adhering to current requirements and advising the leadership team as needed
  • Mentor and develop the accounting team, leading with empathy while holding each team member accountable for clearly communicated expectations and deliverables
