Requirements
- At least 4 years of experience is stated in the introductory description.
- At least 5 years of infrastructure or technical delivery experience is required.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server, especially versions 2019, 2022, and 2025, is required.
- Experience with SQL Server infrastructure on Microsoft Windows Server is required.
- Knowledge of SQL Server infrastructure implementation and design is required, rather than SQL query or index tuning specialization.
- Experience with at least one SQL Server high-availability solution, such as Always On or Windows Server Failover Clustering, is required.
- Experience with SQL Server backup solutions, including full, differential, transaction log, copy-only, and filegroup backups, is required.
- Experience with security topics spanning SQL Server, Windows, and corporate directory services, including Kerberos and certificates, is required.
- Basic knowledge of modifying firewall rules related to SQL Server and its associated tooling is required.
- Experience managing complex Level 3 problems is required.
- Experience migrating from older SQL Server versions to newer versions is required.
- Experience working in highly regulated, security-focused environments is required.
- Strong technical and communication skills and the ability to work in a dynamic environment are required.
- A very strong ability to develop PowerShell scripts or analyze and modify existing scripts is required.
- The ability to provide automation specifications to the Ansible team is required.
- The ability to lead and manage customer meetings in English is required.
Responsibilities
- Write high-level and low-level designs for features to be delivered, along with other agile artifacts.
- Participate in design brainstorming sessions.
- Build artifacts.
- Develop value propositions for changes and new requirements.
- Identify innovation opportunities.
- Participate in agile events, including roadmap planning, Scrum, and stand-ups.
- Communicate with team members and the Delivery Lead to align views and status, including preparation for PI meetings, and provide updates through Jira.
- Support the design, evolution, and operational stability of enterprise Microsoft SQL Server database platforms.
- Ensure availability, security, scalability, and performance across SQL Server environments while aligning technical solutions with customer requirements and corporate standards.
- Provide architecture design, technical documentation, automation initiatives, platform migrations, high-availability solutions, backup and recovery strategies, incident resolution, and continuous improvement activities.
- Support infrastructure optimization, security enhancements, and technology transformation initiatives in highly regulated enterprise environments.
- Perform technology watch.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience using SQL Server on Linux.
- Knowledge of SQL Server tooling, including SQL Server Management Studio.
- Experience with Transparent Data Encryption on any database engine.
- Experience migrating from Oracle to SQL Server.
- Basic Git usage.
