We are looking for a Principal Systems Engineer for the SoundCloud Creator Platform team. The team mission is to expose access to SoundCloud content, data and functionalities for all 1P and 3P developers enabling them to build compelling experiences for Music Fans and Creators.  As a Principal Engineer in the team you will be responsible for identifying key technical problems to solve, adopting or recommending solutions and working with the engineering team to build and deploy these. You will review and influence ongoing design, architecture, standards and methods for operating services and systems; assess design and code changes to drive improvements. You also will actively participate in code reviews, bug/issue triage with the feature teams, and support well informed decisions towards business and engineering goals. As a member of the leadership team, you will identify investment opportunities, take part in developing long term strategies, and propose, prioritize and deliver on goals. 

As a perfect candidate for this position you have a proven track record of designing, writing and delivering software to improve the availability, scalability, performance, security, resiliency, and efficiency of a service. You have experience in working on large enterprise systems for engineering or delivery. You also have experience working with multiple programming languages such as Java, Scala, Python, Node, Go, SQL, Spring/SpringBoot etc. Last but not least you have experience with agile software development practices and are comfortable working according to these.
