The Role
Joining Edelman as an Associate Director you will be responsible for securing, maintaining and growing business in your team, and overseeing the development and delivery of high-quality communications marketing programs. With expert knowledge of your client’s business you will provide strategic counsel and guidance, supporting them in achieving their communications and business objectives. A strong leader, you will be part of the Health Brands senior leadership team supporting the aims of the department/team and taking on key departmental tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Digital operations and strategy;
- Oversee operational performance of accounts, ensuring quality work, deadline and budget adherence across digital activities and projects
- Develop, maintain, and support the development of digital standards and methodologies that implementation teams can follow, resulting in excellence in all campaigns
- Serve as daily client contact and act as client lead when appropriate; address client issues thoughtfully and effectively with little to no senior oversight
- Consistently produce high quality internal and external communications content
- Demonstrate tactical proficiency and excellence in digital/social advertising, including developing plans and working with creative, analytics and paid media specialists to execute and optimise complex campaigns
- Proactively identify new opportunities and develop and present proposals to senior client leaders
- take the lead in creation of digital/social communications strategic plans and goals; manage against them
- Know when and how to most effectively facilitate engagement of Digital speciality practices (e.g., Research, Performance Marketing, Tech, Influencer)
- Expert in latest digital platforms and best practices to translate content strategies effectively within the digital ecosystem and make certain that creative is designed to perform
- Identify and define opportunities to use data-driven techniques to improve performance
- Leadership;
- Business / Client Management provide strategic vision to continuously advance relationships with key clients, operates as a strategic consultant across a range of areas; Supports business development initiatives; Is a change agent internally and with partners and clients – leading the way in best practice digital communications, problem-solving, coaching and building buy-in and consensus for innovative approaches
- Talent Development - recruits, engages, retains, and builds a pipeline of talent and creates an environment for them to grow and thrive.
- Supervise staff by motivating, coaching, consistently providing feedback, holding them accountable and conducting their reviews
- Contribute to business growth through leading and representing digital on new business pitches, introducing clients to new capabilities, building network of industry contacts and participating in relevant professional organisations
- Commit to continuous learning and improvement of leadership skills; set and pursue stretch goals
- Demonstrate behaviours consistent with Edelman’s values and Code of Ethics and Business Conduct
Key Skills and Experiences
- At least ten years of relevant experience in healthcare communications, such as public relations, advertising, management consulting, media and publishing.
- exhibit a broad understanding of digital marketing/communications for health brands, social media strategy, the latest trends and changes in digital as well as government policies regulating the health care industry.
- experience working with pharmaceutical companies and possess familiarity navigating medical, legal, and regulatory review processes.
- experience developing plans to reach specific patient populations.
