Applied Materials’ Etch Business Unit is searching for a Product Engineer to join our team in the Spring of 2023! The candidate will get an exciting opportunity to develop productivity roadmap solutions and get exposed to new product technology. The position will entail the following:
Conduct and design well defined experiments and tests pertaining to the development of new methods, processes, hardware, standards, modification of current material, components, software, or process specifications and the resolution to complex technical problems
Conduct tests for productivity improvement such as for defect reduction, throughput optimization, RF optimization, and process stability.
Analyze test/research data and product specifications. Acquire and apply engineering theories, methods and research techniques in the investigation, troubleshooting, and resolution of technical problems
Requirements
PhD degree in Materials Science and Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field by the time of hiring.
Knowledge of plasma physics and troubleshooting large equipment hardware
Academic Research Knowledge or experience in semiconductor processing or manufacturing preferred
Design for engineering skills critical
Candidate must be a fast learner with excellent analytical and communication skills

U.S. Salary Range:
$140,000.00 - $192,500.00
The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on a number of factors including location and level and will vary depending on confirmed job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.
