Requirements
  • Secondary or high school education.
  • Certificates in National Skills Recognition System, CPR, First Aid Management, and Basic Fire Fighting.
  • A minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in a similar capacity.
  • Good reading, writing, and oral proficiency in English.
  • No criminal record.
Responsibilities
  • Train Security Officers in surveillance equipment operation, written reports, record keeping, patrol, and first aid procedures.
  • Disseminate management information to team members.
  • Conduct patrols and regular checks of Security Officers to ensure they remain alert and perform their duties efficiently and effectively.
  • Conduct criminal investigations and prepare accompanying investigation papers and reports for cases occurring within the hotel.
  • Conduct surveillance on hotel staff to ensure compliance with House Rules and monitor staff classified as suspects under investigation.
  • Control and direct emergency personnel traffic in response to fires, bomb threats, police assistance, injuries, or illnesses.
  • Inspect security equipment to ensure it is operational and verify that cameras are correctly focused.
  • Conduct routine checks of pocket books, the Security Desk Occurrence Book, gate passes, security passes, keys, key registers, and post allocations for hotel and external security.
  • Cultivate informers to obtain security information for prevention and detection purposes.
  • Record all department activities in the Daily Security Report.
  • Provide security coverage for VIP guests.
  • Keep the Director of Security informed of security matters affecting the hotel and department.
  • Remain on call, including during off-duty hours, for emergencies.
  • Conduct team performance reviews.
  • Identify and develop team members with potential.
  • Monitor team members' appearance, attitude, and professionalism.
  • Conduct detailed induction programs for new employees.
  • Develop, conduct, and maintain staff training programs focused on team members' development needs and changing business requirements.
  • Prepare weekly staff schedules based on anticipated business, operating budgets, and service standards.
  • Remain conversant with hotel fire, life-safety, and emergency procedures.
  • Comply with hotel and department policies and procedures.
  • Attend briefings, meetings, and training assigned by management.
  • Report for duty on time wearing a clean and complete uniform.
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and hygiene.
  • Perform other reasonable duties assigned by hotel management.
  • Maintain the highest standards of security within the hotel premises and respond quickly to situations.
