  • 15+ years of experience in bringing highly technical electromechanical products to the market
  • Track record of building close-knit, sustainable, and diverse teams of highly-motivated, low-ego, and highly-productive engineers
  • Experience with startups, wearing-multiple-hats, and agile product development methodologies
  • Experience with highly-reliable autonomous systems, with a deep appreciation of the complexity and tradeoffs of a functional quality management program (requirements, V&V, configuration management, regulatory, standards)
  • The desire and aptitude to get your hands dirty by jumping in to help troubleshoot an issue, review or iterate a schematic, build a test harness, or write a test script
  • Be comfortable at all levels: able to see the big picture while also applying first principles, always pushing the team to push to higher levels of engineering rigor
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to interact with engineers, sales, executives, customers, and government/regulatory contacts
  • Education Requirements: Master's degree inElectrical or Mechatronics Engineering with 15+ years of relevant design and analysis experience
  • Comfortable working in an Agile and demanding environment while wearing multiple hats
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with the Atlassian suite, most importantly Jira, and Confluence
  • Willing to work after core business hours and on weekends
  • Willing to be on-call to address any business critical issues
  • Grow and mentor a world-class department of Electrical, RF, Battery, and Harness Engineers
  • Own the processes, standards, and tools for the Electrical Engineering discipline
  • Build training programs to onboard and maintain a common understanding of avionics practices
  • Use your high-volume electronics experience to take Astra's avionics products to the next level of design for manufacturing, cost, and scale
  • Champion reliability through all phases, from architecture through design and qualification to manufacturing and operations. Lead and deep-dive in toFTAs, FMEAs, trade studies, and failure analyses on every one of our products
  • Push the bleeding edge of modern “Careful COTS” radiation mitigation, finding economical but effective approaches to radiation protection and testing
  • Responsible for budget and staff projections for all astra product lines
  • Accountable for the strategic direction, alignment and success of electronics across all product lines and roadmaps
  • Partner with the leaders of other disciplines and programs to foster communication and a shared vision
