Requirements
  • At least 8 years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor's degree, at least 5 years with an advanced degree such as a Master's, MBA, JD, or MD, or 2 years with a PhD.
  • Extensive contract drafting experience of at least 6 years, preferably in a similarly sized organization, with demonstrated expertise as a contract drafter.
  • A degree and a J.D. from an accredited law school or equivalent experience.
  • Relevant and transferable experience at a Fortune 500 company, large-scale corporation, or law firm.
  • Experience managing staff in a dynamic, fast-paced work environment.
  • Ability to work independently and proactively, collaboratively with minimal supervision, and directly with senior executive management and leaders across Visa.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills, with the ability to build working relationships with internal clients at all management levels.
  • Ability to manage pressure and tight deadlines, maintain strong attention to detail, and multitask.
  • Superior analytical, pragmatic, problem-solving, and writing skills.
  • Ability to identify, initiate, and drive strategic projects, gain consensus, and influence behavior cross-functionally.
  • Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Experience using generative artificial intelligence tools such as Copilot, ChatGPT, Harvey, or Legora.
Responsibilities
  • Draft and drive to completion complex commercial agreements that achieve business objectives, and continue supporting the associated business relationships after completion.
  • Liaise with Sales, Finance, and Legal to ensure contracts are developed consistently and approved promptly.
  • Identify opportunities to add additional value to stakeholders and partners.
  • Participate in special assignments and provide ad hoc support as required.
  • Draft and refine processes for multiple existing contract types supported by the Legal Commercial Contract team.
  • Evaluate current contract workflows, identify bottlenecks, and implement strategies to streamline contract development, approval, and ongoing management.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional leadership across Legal, Finance, Sales, Product, and other internal stakeholders.
  • Support Visa's key clients by understanding and delivering against their goals, service-enablement needs, and client-specific requirements.
Desired Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of the payments industry and Visa products and services.
  • Knowledge or experience in payment services, credit and debit processing, banking and financial-institution laws and regulations, antitrust and competition law, technology and digital payments, or fintech.
  • Experience with Salesforce, iCertis, or similar contract lifecycle management software.
