Senior AI Engineer

The Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Senior AI Engineer to join ESW’s AI Autonomous Product Group (APG). This role offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of applied AI and scalable cloud engineering, helping turn generative AI into real-world automation for customer service, onboarding, payments, and operations.

You will build and deploy advanced LLM-powered systems using tools like OpenAI, Claude, and Azure OpenAI, while embedding those systems into our enterprise Azure platform using technologies such as .NET, CosmosDB, Kubernetes, and Kafka. You’ll own everything from prompt orchestration and inference to DevOps and production monitoring.

Responsibilities

LLM System Development & Orchestration

• Design and implement workflows using LLMs (e.g. OpenAI, Claude, Mistral, Azure OpenAI) for agentic automation and RAG (retrieval-augmented generation) use cases
• Build orchestration pipelines to chain prompts, manage tool use, and handle fallbacks or escalations
• Use vector databases (e.g. FAISS, Weaviate, Chroma, Azure Cognitive Search) to power RAG pipelines and semantic search
• Design and implement scalable AI/ML models for classification, prediction, recommendation, and optimization tasks

Enterprise Integration & API Architecture

• Integrate AI workflows with ESW’s backend systems and APIs (.NET microservices, CosmosDB, Kafka eventing)
• Build scalable APIs and services that expose LLM capabilities securely
• Collaborate with platform engineers to deploy containerized services via Kubernetes and Azure Functions

Deployment, Monitoring & CI/CD

• Automate build and deployment pipelines using GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or similar tooling
• Implement monitoring, logging, and tracing (e.g. Application Insights, Prometheus, Grafana) for all AI services
• Apply DevOps best practices including versioning, rollback strategies, and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform/Bicep)
• Ensure traceability and auditability of agent decisions and model outputs

Cross-functional Collaboration

• Work with data scientists to take models from prototype to production
• Partner with product teams to design, test, and deliver user-centric solutions
• Contribute reusable tooling and documentation for broader AI adoption across the company

Requirements

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in backend, AI/ML, or platform engineering
• Consistent record of delivering production-grade AI or LLM-enabled systems
• Experience working on customer service, ecommerce, or process automation solutions is a plus

Technical Proficiency

• Proficiency in Python and backend API development
• Familiar with orchestration frameworks (e.g. LangChain, LlamaIndex, or custom tools)
• Hands-on experience using LLM APIs such as OpenAI, Claude, Mistral, or Azure OpenAI
• Knowledge of vector databases and embedding pipelines (e.g. FAISS, Weaviate, Azure Cognitive Search)

Azure Platform Experience

• Familiar with ESW’s core Azure technologies:
• .NET microservices
• CosmosDB
• Apache Kafka
• Kubernetes (AKS)
• Azure Functions, Blob Storage, App Services

DevOps & MLOps

• Experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines
• Containerization with Docker, deployment with Kubernetes
• Infrastructure-as-code using Bicep, Terraform, or ARM templates
• Exposure to AI/ML monitoring, version control, and audit mechanisms

Soft Skills

• Strong communicator who can collaborate across technical and non-technical teams
• Self-motivated and comfortable working in agile, iterative environments
• Growth mindset with a keen interest in staying ahead of AI trends and tools
