OutSystems launches governed agentic systems for consumer lending with KeyBank, Paragon Bank and Axos Bank

OutSystems has expanded its Agentic Industry Solutions portfolio for banking with a new consumer lending platform. The system combines AI agents, customer-facing applications, and workflows to help banks modernise loan processes whilst maintaining regulatory compliance. The Agentic Loan Applications platform layers over existing banking systems and automates document-heavy lending work. It captures and verifies documents, runs identity and sanctions screening, and compiles applications that integrate with banks' loan origination systems. KeyBank, Paragon Bank, and Axos Bank are among financial institutions using the platform. OutSystems evaluated multiple models through Amazon Bedrock, selecting those performing optimally at up to 82% lower cost. The platform includes rigorous testing against dozens of evaluations covering relevance, accuracy, and data protection. Banks can configure the system around their own products and policies whilst retaining data control.

96% of enterprises use AI agents but 94% fear sprawl, OutSystems finds

OutSystems has released its 2026 State of AI Development report, revealing that 96% of enterprises are already using AI agents and 97% are exploring system-wide agentic AI strategies. The survey of 1,900 global IT leaders shows a decisive shift from experimentation to production deployment in mission-critical operations. However, 94% of organisations report concern about AI sprawl increasing complexity, technical debt and security risks. Only a small fraction have established centralised governance approaches, with most using agents across fragmented environments. Thirty-eight percent globally report mixing custom-built and pre-built agents, creating AI stacks that are difficult to standardise. The impact is most apparent in IT and software development, where 31% say AI is already integral to their practices. Financial services and technology sectors report the highest production deployment levels.
