Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Ability to maintain a valid driver's license and required endorsements.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and motor vehicle report review.
  • Ability to pass a DOT physical, medical evaluation, and drug screen.
  • Ability to pass and maintain any required annual safety certification and testing.
  • Ability to walk on uneven surfaces for up to one-half mile, maintain balance while a train is in motion, work in confined spaces as narrow as 24 inches, and adapt to temperature extremes.
  • Ability to regularly sit and stand for extended periods, perform bending and overhead reaching, push and pull up to 25 pounds, and ascend or descend platforms up to 18 inches high.
  • Ability to pass required color and vision examinations and distinguish required auditory signals.
  • Ability to work in a safety-sensitive environment.
  • Ability to maintain regular and predictable attendance and punctuality.
Responsibilities
  • Instruct operators on policies and procedures and monitor on-time performance using Microsoft Office, Genetec Cameras, Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition, and Swiftly.
  • Respond directly to emergency-related incidents, including accident and incident scenes, investigate them, and provide detailed reports.
  • Administer post-accident, reasonable-cause, and random drug and alcohol tests.
  • Perform onboard riding checks to evaluate the safe operation of the streetcar.
  • Inspect passenger stations and facilities to ensure a clean, safe, and secure environment.
  • Observe overhead catenary system infrastructure, poles, and tracks and report their condition.
  • Throw switches and flag streetcars.
  • Prepare written reports concerning rule violations.
  • Review operator reports and payroll.
  • Review digital recordings as necessary and provide daily activity reports.
  • Assist with labor-related disputes, including grievances.
  • Administer provisions of the labor agreement within the scope of authority.
  • Communicate with other Herzog departments and the agency.
  • Assist the Operations Manager with special projects as assigned.
  • Interact with customers and non-customers and provide information as requested.
  • Investigate customer service complaints in a timely manner.
  • Promote and participate in Herzog's culture and essential behaviors.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • College-level education.
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Rail transportation-related operations and supervision experience.
