Requirements
  • Six years of related experience.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose equipment problems.
  • Ability to conduct training classes and multitask while working cooperatively with others.
  • Valid Texas Driver’s License with Commercial Class B designation.

  • Ability to maintain the security and integrity of critical infrastructure.
Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and perform field inspections on equipment, verify required maintenance, vehicle records, and inventory.
  • Develop and maintain troubleshooting processes for various vehicle issues and evaluate repair options.
  • Ensure current and accurate maintenance records, including maintenance and repair documentation, are kept on all vehicles and equipment by the fleet team.
  • Find, assess, and resolve recurring equipment issues related to equipment or operators, and recommend preventive training, maintenance, or fleet orders.
  • Conduct equipment- and vehicle-related training.
  • Evaluate and prioritize fleet and equipment replacement.
  • Serve as unit instructor for transport operations courses.
  • Initiate, prepare, and maintain narrative and statistical reports, records, and files related to Texas Forest Service vehicles.
  • Support and participate in emergency response.
