Former Expand Energy CEO Domenic Dell'Osso named Gulfport Energy chief executive

Gulfport Energy has appointed Domenic Dell'Osso as chief executive, effective 28 May. Dell'Osso left his CEO role at larger rival Expand Energy three months ago after leading the company and its predecessor Chesapeake Energy, which he joined in 2008. Dell'Osso spent over a decade as Chesapeake's chief financial officer before becoming CEO. He oversaw the 2024 merger between Chesapeake and Southwestern Energy that created Expand Energy. Gulfport has operated without a permanent CEO since John Reinhart's departure was announced on 9 March after three years. Chairman Timothy Cutt praised Dell'Osso as a "proven leader with the strategic vision, financial discipline and operational expertise" needed for the role. Gulfport operates in Appalachian shale basins and Oklahoma's Midcontinent formation.
