Requirements
  • 3+ years of experience building production web applications with React
  • Strong proficiency in TypeScript and modern React patterns (server components, hooks, data fetching)
  • Experience with Next.js or a similar framework (routing, SSR/SSG, API routes, caching)
  • A strong eye for UI quality
  • Experience with frontend performance optimization, accessibility, and cross-browser compatibility
  • Comfort working with RESTful APIs and understanding backend data models
  • Location requirement: ability to work from the office in San Francisco (near Market and Spear Street) or Boston (Central Square, Cambridge) a minimum of 3 days per week (ideally 4 or 5)
Responsibilities
  • Own major surfaces of the Next.js application including search, scheduling, provider profiles, and checkout
  • Build a seamless and beautiful consumer healthcare product on the web
  • Collaborate closely with design to nail interactions and micro-details
  • Make pragmatic frontend architecture decisions including component patterns, state management, data fetching strategies, performance optimization, and testing
  • Work across the stack when needed; frontend communicates with a Rails backend
  • Write product requirements documents, understand feature performance through SQL, and own QA as part of responsibilities
  • Operate in an environment of significant ambiguity and collaborate with design, operations, and clinical stakeholders

  • Familiarity with Ruby on Rails and Postgres
  • Healthcare domain experience or interest, with potential integration with electronic health records and revenue cycle management
  • Experience writing product requirements documents (if not already listed under responsibilities)
  • Ability to work in a fast-moving environment and balance engineering velocity with quality
