Altera has added post-quantum cryptography support to its Agilex 3 and Agilex 5 FPGAs, helping protect long-life systems against quantum-era threats. The devices now offer PQC-enabled secure boot and additional security features through the Secure Device Manager, including bitstream encryption, anti-tamper support, and key management. The reprogrammable architecture allows customers to adapt their designs as security requirements evolve. "Customers building long-life systems need confidence that the hardware they choose today can adapt to tomorrow's security requirements," said Mike Fitton, vice president of product and corporate marketing at Altera. PQC-enabled Agilex 3 and Agilex 5 devices are shipping today, supported by Quartus Prime Pro Edition 26.1.1 software.
Altera Corporation has appointed two independent directors to its board: Kirsten Spears and Sumit Sadana. Spears, who previously served as chief financial officer at Broadcom, will chair Altera's audit committee. Sadana brings over 35 years of semiconductor experience, including nine years as executive vice president at Micron Technology.
