The Opportunity at Komodo Health

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our team to lead the day-to-day engineering efforts required to deliver an existing software-as-a-service product offering targeting the Pharmaceutical & Life Sciences industries.

This individual will be hands on in designing, developing and maintaining:

• customer facing application platform and the data that powers it. 
• infrastructure to extract large volumes of structured and unstructured data primarily focusing on web data extraction and data scraping.
• tooling to support the review, enrichment, and curation of extracted data 

In addition to contributing to code, this individual will coordinate the efforts of a high-performance engineering team that manages data workflows and create UIs to analyze complex data relationships and help clients extract value from data.

As Senior Engineer leading this team, you will take ownership of a process and accountability to ensure teams, systems, product decisions, and capabilities are best-in-class and in accordance with Komodo Health’s product, regulatory, and industry requirements!

Looking back on your first 12 months at Komodo Health, you will have…

• Partnered with the Application and Data Product Managers to drive technical decisions required to facilitate ongoing development of products.
• Led a remote engineering team on day-to-day engineering efforts, setting best practices that included integration and application development, deployment, testing (unit and systems), and iterative refinement.
• Designed and developed maintainable code with sufficient test coverage, worked in a professional software engineering environment (with source control, dev/stage/prod release cycle, continuous deployment).
• Mentored others in programming technologies, tools, and processes.
• Implemented Python, Flask, D3, JavaScript, Redis, MySQL, AWS and other technologies to build customized solutions.
• Supported end to end effort related SDLC Process Management, Safety & Soundness, Governance and application/environment Issue resolution.
• Ensured quality, security and compliance requirements are met.
• Planned, conducted, and monitored product feature releases.

What you bring to Komodo Health:

• Hands-on engineering Lead experience conceptualizing, designing, and building solutions in partnership with product leadership. 
• You’ll be a systems thinker interested in understanding Komodo’s overall objectives and challenges, and designing clever and elegant solutions to help meet those needs.
• Desire to contribute to code hands-on 40% and lead the team 60%.
• In-depth experience working with vendor software, technologies, and tools for enterprise solutions.
• Experience collaborating with Product and Engineering teams to build a high-level roadmap and vision for a team delivering against a collaboratively defined roadmap.
• An understanding of how Agile teams solve complex challenges and build working software securing application development concepts (OWASP top 10, Threat Modeling, etc.).
• Understand and implement integrations and knowledge of integration patterns (REST & SOAP, JSON & XML, etc.) using version control and continuous delivery systems (such as Git and Jenkins).
• Strong verbal/written communication and data presentation skills, including an ability to effectively communicate with both business and technical teams.

Compensation at Komodo Health

We are committed to providing competitive compensation for all roles at Komodo Health. We carefully consider multiple factors when determining compensation, including your skills, experience, and location while balancing internal equity relative to peers at the company. The targeted base salary range for the Senior Software Engineer role is $140,000 to $233,200 plus a competitive bonus and equity package.
