Department Overview
The Solutions Deployment and Integration (SDI) Engineering Operations organization supports our systems engineers and software solution architects in the deployment of our customer-driven, world-class end-to-end solutions that rise to the challenges of first responder, government, carrier, utility, transportation, and enterprise customers. The operations organization supports systems engineers in their effort to ensure the delivered technical integrity of our solutions. The operations include a foundation of support for the people, the processes, and the tools our systems engineers use in their day-to-day work at Motorola Solutions.
Job Description
Note: This is a hybrid position in one of our corporate offices: Chicago, IL; Schaumburg, IL; Elgin, IL; Parma, OH.
Overview:
Intern assists the SDI Engineering Operations team in all aspects of their work. The Intern role will support the development and implementation of web-based portals - including tools, processes, and applications providing a centralized, streamlined approach to access information needed by our systems engineers to deploy technology efficiently and accurately. In this role, the Intern will assist in the identification of stakeholder needs, development of applications, and designing and implementing a cohesive web-based user experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Aid in the identification of stakeholder needs and requirements
- Collaborate with the team to develop and implement web-based portals and dashboards
- Assist in the design and implementation of a user-friendly web interface
- Contribute to the development of tools and applications for streamlined access to information
- Support the Systems Integration/Software Deployment team in their day-to-day operations
Skills and Qualifications:
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to present complex topics to non-technical audiences
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Strong data analytics and data visualization skills
- Knowledge of user interface design and web design constraints
- Familiarity with content management processes
- Experience coding with languages such as Javascript, HTML5, CSS3, PHP, Java XML, Visual Basic, or C#
- Experience coding add-ons to Google desktop publishing applications, such as Google Sites, Google Docs, or Google Sheets

Basic Requirements
High School Diploma is required
Must be pursuing a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree (Data Science or similar engineering or technical discipline) with a graduation date of December 2025 or later
Students requiring current or future visa sponsorship must be pursuing a minimum of a Master’s Degree with a graduation date of December 2025 or later
