WPP fair value rises to $4.43 amid split analyst targets ranging from $3.05 to $5.52

WPP's fair value estimate has risen from £3.07 to £3.49, according to Simply Wall St's latest update. Analyst price targets remain split, ranging from Goldman Sachs' cautious £2.40 to Rothschild & Co Redburn's optimistic £4.35. Rothschild & Co Redburn reinitiated coverage with a Buy rating, signalling confidence in WPP's ability to improve organic growth and margins. Citi and JPMorgan also raised their price targets to £4.30 and £3.90 respectively, both maintaining Neutral ratings. Goldman Sachs took a more bearish stance, initiating coverage with a Sell rating. The firm cited limited visibility on returning to healthy organic growth under the current asset mix, suggesting asset disposals might be necessary for better execution. Revenue growth assumptions now reflect a steeper decline of 12.92%, whilst profit margin expectations have been adjusted to 1.78%.

WPP revenue falls 4.7% in H1 but quarterly decline eases to 2.8% as turnaround gains traction

WPP reported a 4.7% like-for-like revenue decline for the first half of 2026, though quarterly trends showed improvement. The advertising giant's second-quarter revenue fell 2.8%, better than the first quarter's 6.7% drop. Chief Executive Cindy Rose said the company is in the stabilisation phase of its three-year Elevate28 restructuring plan, which aims to simplify WPP into four operating units. The company expects to return to growth in 2027. By region, North America declined 4.3% in the second quarter, improving from a 7.8% first-quarter decline. China posted double-digit growth in the second quarter, whilst Latin America and Asia-Pacific showed modest gains. Auto and healthcare sectors returned to growth, whilst technology clients declined 8.9%, affected by assignment losses.
