Gov. Beshear announces major economic development projects in Glasgow and Bowling Green

Gov. Beshear announces major economic development projects in Glasgow and Bowling Green. Governor highlights $71.9 million in combined investments creating 420 jobs across south central Kentucky. FRANKFORT, Ky. (WBKO) - Gov. Andy Beshear highlighted Thursday two major economic development projects for Glasgow and Bowling Green during his Team Kentucky update. The governor confirmed that Tate's parent company will locate their North American facility in Glasgow following meetings during his recent trip to the United Kingdom and France last week. "The $61.2 million project represents the largest job creation announcement in Barren County in nearly 20 years and will create 400 new full-time manufacturing jobs once the facility is fully operational and they intend to get operational quickly," Beshear said. Beshear also announced that Inked Brands plans to relocate and expand in Bowling Green with a $10.7 million investment, creating 20 new jobs. "The company is an established leader in the stationery, office, crafting, and gift sales across several platforms, including e-commerce, mass retail, and boutique business to business," Beshear said. "Anytime a local business expands in the Commonwealth, it is a testament to the quality of work they're doing, their leadership, their workforce, and support from local and city officials." Beshear said Inked Brands has operated in Kentucky for a decade and called the announcement an exciting step for both the state and Bowling Green.
