- At least 5 years of demonstrated work in the area addictions and mental health.
Demonstrated practical application of, and/or teaching experience in, the following areas:
- Relevant empirical and theoretical literatures related to addiction with particular focus on addiction, particularly as it impacts specific geographic, social, and economic communities.
- Critical analysis of multiple approaches to treating addiction.
- Understanding and implementation of ethical standards with regarding to working with individuals, families and communities facing addiction.
- Key concepts, definitions and perspectives related to working with clients with addictions.
- Issues related to dual diagnoses with clients with addictions Demonstrated in‐depth knowledge of the following:
- Transdisciplinary models used to explain substance abuse and addiction
- Intergenerational effects of addiction
- Analysis of the impact of colonization and governmental policies on addiction in Indigenous communities today
- Knowledge of the local and regional resources available for addressing addiction
