Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in a job-related field.
  • Five years of auditing or accounting experience, including one year in a leadership role or equivalent military experience in grade E4 or above.
  • Knowledge of cost accounting standards and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
  • Knowledge and use of auditing standards and statistical sampling techniques.
  • Planning, organization, and human relations skills.
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of auditing.
  • Ability to analyze financial data and determine its applicability.
  • Ability to gather information by examining records and documents and interviewing individuals.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work professionally with persons at all levels.
  • Ability to maintain effective working relationships.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise the receipt, review, and settlement of Medicare cost reports while ensuring that all Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services requirements are met.
  • Perform supervisory review of audit work papers completed by the team to ensure compliance with Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services and other government auditing standards.
  • Perform supervisory review of cost report acceptances and desk reviews to ensure timeliness requirements and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services standards are met.
  • Plan, monitor, and budget all work assigned to the team, and evaluate and report results.
  • Perform supervisory review of settlement packages to ensure that products meet Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services standards.
  • Develop audit staff through on-the-job training and by preparing and presenting formal staff training sessions.
  • Research issues and respond to provider and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services requests in a timely manner.
Desired Qualifications
  • A bachelor's degree in any major.
  • Certified Public Accountant, Certified Internal Auditor, or Certified Management Accountant certification.
