Requirements
  • Associate degree in a laboratory science (chemical or biological science) or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution or equivalent laboratory training and experience as defined: 60 semester hours or equivalent from an accredited institution that, at a minimum, includes either 24 semester hours of medical laboratory technology courses, OR 24 semester hours of science courses that include six semester hours of chemistry, six semester hours of biology, and 12 semester hours of chemistry, biology, or medical laboratory technology in any combination.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the Essential Duties of the position with or without accommodation.
  • Professional working knowledge of local, state, and federal laboratory regulations.
Responsibilities
  • Perform high complexity laboratory tests, procedures, and analyses according to the laboratory’s standard operating procedures.
  • Meet productivity and TAT expectations.
  • Maintain a high level of quality in test processes and results.
  • Ability to identify problems, notify supervisors and describe circumstance or contributing factors.
  • Achieves and maintains competency on required high complexity laboratory tasks.
  • Ability to comply with any applicable personal protective equipment and safety requirements.
  • Support and comply with the company's Quality Management System policies and procedures.
  • Understand the various laboratory equipment and reagents used within assigned department.
  • Ability to use various types of laboratory equipment; including blades, strainers, and pipettes for extended periods of time.
  • Receive and satisfactorily complete basic training on laboratory software and programs.
  • Maintain a clean work area in accordance with standard laboratory practice and procedures.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients and colleagues by using appropriate interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.

  • May be exposed to hazardous materials, tissue specimens, and instruments with moving parts, lasers, heating and freezing elements, and high-speed centrifugation.
  • Participate in continuing education and staff meetings. Responsible for own professional development.
