An Outreach Care Specialist Intern will be responsible for supporting the Utilization Management and Electronic Visit Verification Team in day-to-day operations which includes oversight of tasks received for request for Outpatient Authorizations, Late and Missed Visit monitoring and Reporting, Overlapping Visits oversight and monitoring and Federal Medical Assistance Percentages (FMAP) monitoring/reporting.  OCS II will ensure we are contractually meeting TennCare’ s protocols and policies and are following the 21st Century Cures Act. The OCS will work hand in hand with the clinicians responsible for creating and developing Person Centered Support Plans for individuals enrolled in our CHOICES and Employment and Community First long-term care programs.

• Gather data for incentive payments for providers to aide in referrals being accepted and individuals receiving needed services through LTSS

• Identify authorization needs that could lead to a potential gap in services being rendered

Minimum Requirements:

• Ability to work 40 hours per week for the duration of the summer internship program

• Actively pursuing a bachelor’s degree at an accredited college/university

• Students must be authorized to work in the U.S. without future visa sponsorship requirements

Preferred Skills, Capabilities and Experiences:

• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

• Excellent Communication skills, both written and oral.

• Excellent Problem-solving, Analytical, and Organizational skills

• Excellent Public Speaking and Presentation skills
