Product Security Tester

What you’ll achieve

The Security Assurance team runs our Product Security Testing Program, this is a program where Dell’s commercial products are tested and evaluated from a security perspective. You will perform end-to-end security testing and assessments on a variety of large and complex enterprise products and services e.g. infrastructure products, web applications and services.

You will:

• Perform product security testing, conduct project scoping, and review threat models and architectural designs to identify potential security vulnerabilities and provide assessment reports
• Consult and collaborate with internal product teams and other stakeholders to develop mitigation strategies to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations by presenting assessment results
• Provide technical guidance on all areas of security, including product, platform, architecture, and network
• Continuously increase knowledge and skills within the cybersecurity space to improve Dell’s security testing strategy, framework, and processes

Essential Requirements

• 8+ years’ experience in a security role; must include experience with security testing, writing of proof-of-concepts, and conducting architectural and threat model reviews.
• Good understanding of web, cloud, container and low-level (hardware, firmware, Unified Extensible Firmware Interface UEFI) security
• Practical experience with static and dynamic testing techniques e.g. reverse engineering, fuzzing and knowledge of modern security mitigations, bug classes and exploitation techniques
• Ability to perform security-focused source code reviews (C, C++, Java, .NET, Python, etc.) on complex products with a large code base
• Understanding of attack surfaces in modern applications and operating systems e.g. Windows, Linux; need to have the ability to evaluate both open and closed source applications using off-the-shelf or in-house developed tools

Desirable Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering or related; relevant security related certifications from Offensive Security, Global Information Assurance Certification (GIAC) and ISC2.
• Published or presented security research or security advisories
