Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent and completion of a vocational program for Licensed Practical Nurse are required.
  • A current Licensed Practical Nurse license from the State of Oklahoma is required.
  • Basic Life Support training or retraining is required during orientation before providing patient care, and current Basic Life Support certification must be maintained throughout employment.
Responsibilities
  • Perform the duties of a licensed practical nurse as prescribed by the Oklahoma Nurse Practice Act.
  • Contribute to the development of a plan of care and follow through with the plan for selected patients.
  • Administer medication with a high degree of safety and accuracy.
  • Maintain exam rooms and the work environment.
  • Document nursing care and activities.
  • Assist with patient care and monitor patients during procedures.
  • Assist with training other staff.
  • Assist the departmental assistant with clinical matters.
Desired Qualifications
  • At least one year of experience in a clinical or physician-office setting, emergency room, and/or hospital setting that provides patient care is preferred.
  • Experience in office clerical activities is desirable.
