- A high school diploma or equivalent and completion of a vocational program for Licensed Practical Nurse are required.
- A current Licensed Practical Nurse license from the State of Oklahoma is required.
- Basic Life Support training or retraining is required during orientation before providing patient care, and current Basic Life Support certification must be maintained throughout employment.
- Perform the duties of a licensed practical nurse as prescribed by the Oklahoma Nurse Practice Act.
- Contribute to the development of a plan of care and follow through with the plan for selected patients.
- Administer medication with a high degree of safety and accuracy.
- Maintain exam rooms and the work environment.
- Document nursing care and activities.
- Assist with patient care and monitor patients during procedures.
- Assist with training other staff.
- Assist the departmental assistant with clinical matters.
- At least one year of experience in a clinical or physician-office setting, emergency room, and/or hospital setting that provides patient care is preferred.
- Experience in office clerical activities is desirable.
