Requirements
  • A solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and advanced Excel skills.
  • Experience with standard accounting and finance software solutions, including QuickBooks Online, Xero, NetSuite, Campfire, Brex, Ramp, Rippling, Gusto, Rillet, and Puzzle.
  • A strong understanding of accounting and finance operations and modern accounting technology stacks.
  • The ability to translate artificial intelligence capabilities into practical workflow applications.
  • Experience leading cross-functional technology or systems implementations.
  • High attention to detail with strong validation and quality-control capabilities.
  • Exceptional organizational and documentation skills, including the ability to transform experimentation into scalable processes.
  • The ability to manage ambiguity in an evolving artificial intelligence landscape and proactively solve complex operational challenges.
  • Comfort serving as a strategic and technical lead across internal and client-facing initiatives.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, including the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, independent judgment, decision-making ability, and the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • A bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred.
  • Seven or more years of progressive accounting experience, including at least two years in a supervisory role.
  • Five or more years of experience in accounting, finance operations, consulting, or systems implementation.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced technology or professional services environment.
  • Demonstrated success managing full-cycle technology implementations from discovery through deployment.
  • Experience building standard operating procedures, documentation frameworks, and scalable internal processes.
Responsibilities
  • Produce monthly financial statements and budget-versus-actual analyses.
  • Assist with financial modeling and forecasting for clients.
  • Manage accounts receivable, including invoicing, collections, and contract review.
  • Manage accounts payable by ensuring accurate entry, timely payment, and compliance with company policies.
  • Process employee onboarding, payroll, and terminations.
  • Manage cash and assist with creating departmental budgets and forecasts.
  • Support tax compliance and the development of accounting policies and procedures.
  • Mentor and train future team members.
  • Own implementation of artificial intelligence tools and workflow-automation initiatives across the firm from strategy through deployment.
  • Lead internal stakeholder meetings to assess operational pain points and prioritize artificial intelligence use cases.
  • Develop and manage artificial intelligence implementation project plans, timelines, and milestone tracking.
  • Serve as the first line of communication for artificial intelligence questions, troubleshooting, and workflow optimization.
  • Ensure clarity of scope, ownership, governance, and measurable outcomes across teams.
  • Design and implement an internal artificial intelligence-powered chat and knowledge interface.
  • Integrate internal documentation, playbooks, standard operating procedures, and prior client deliverables into a searchable artificial intelligence-enabled system.
  • Develop structured prompt libraries and templates for accounting, finance, and client-response workflows.
  • Continuously optimize response accuracy, usability, and speed.
  • Identify accounting and finance processes suitable for artificial intelligence augmentation.
  • Design and deploy artificial intelligence-enabled workflows, including onboarding support, close assistance, reconciliation review, and technical research acceleration.
  • Build repeatable automation templates for internal and client-facing use.
  • Ensure artificial intelligence workflows integrate effectively with enterprise resource planning, customer relationship management, and document-management tools.
  • Establish quality-assurance frameworks to validate artificial intelligence-generated outputs and automated workflows.
  • Define artificial intelligence governance standards, usage policies, and guardrails.
  • Monitor data security, confidentiality, and compliance considerations.
  • Use the assigned client accounting portfolio as anchor pilots for artificial intelligence-enabled workflows in live delivery environments.
  • Measure time savings, quality improvements, and operational impact.
  • Identify scalable artificial intelligence-enabled service opportunities for client offerings.
  • Partner with leadership and sales teams to assess technical feasibility and implementation scope for potential artificial intelligence services.
  • Provide insights from pilot implementations to inform future packaging, pricing, and positioning.
  • Review artificial intelligence platform documentation and training materials for alignment with best practices.
  • Document weekly learnings, experimentation results, implementation challenges, and resolution strategies.
  • Develop the firm's internal artificial intelligence implementation playbook, including opportunity-identification frameworks, workflow-automation standards, prompt-engineering and template libraries, quality-assurance and validation protocols, governance and risk guidelines, and troubleshooting documentation.
  • Build scalable standard operating procedures and training resources to enable broader team adoption.
  • Establish performance metrics for artificial intelligence initiatives, including response time, efficiency gains, error reduction, and adoption rates.
  • Develop dashboards or reporting mechanisms to track return on investment and firm-wide impact.
  • Deliver regular updates to leadership on artificial intelligence experimentation, results, and expansion opportunities.
  • Continuously refine workflows based on usage data and stakeholder feedback.
Desired Qualifications
  • Certified Public Accountant credential.
  • Experience implementing workflow automation or artificial intelligence-enabled tools.
  • Familiarity with generative artificial intelligence tools and automation platforms.
  • Passion for startups, early-stage growth companies, and emerging technology.
