- 5+ years experience in network engineering and administration in the last seven years
- HS diploma or GED
- Network-related certifications desired
- Experience prioritizing network outages, projects and tasks
- Extensive experience providing technical assistance and resolution to teams in order to maintain, troubleshoot and repair network infrastructure
- Able to design and implement operational network systems and prototypes according to current and future engineering data and Government requirements
- Extensive experience with routers; core, distribution, and access layer switches; firewalls; web content filtering devices; and intrusion detection/prevention devices
- Experience with cloud engineering and migration strategies
- Able to communicate, coordinate and resolve technical issues with OneNet Engineering personnel within the entire DHS network topology including the DHS Data Centers
- Comfortable interacting with technical and non-technical staff and all levels of an organization to understand business needs and recommend technical solutions
- Must have strong communication and organization skills
- Must be a US citizen
- Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information
- Provide technical assistance and resolution to teams in order to maintain, troubleshoot and repair network infrastructure
- Design and implement operational network systems and prototypes according to current and future engineering data and Government requirements
- Maintain enterprise network infrastructure at optimal performance levels while ensuring adherence to DHS and FLETC security standards
- Collaborate with Network and System Engineers, equipment vendors, and other personnel to identify, define, and solve trending or developmental problems
- Review and make technical recommendations to all Infrastructure Change Control Board packets prior to submittal and ensure recommendations are coordinated, understood, and implemented correctly during network rollouts
- Network-related certifications desired
- Experience with cloud engineering and migration strategies
