Requirements
  • A master's degree in Education, Counseling, or another relevant field.
  • Two to three years of clinical experience with a supervisory background and experience with program management, including budget preparation.
  • Thorough knowledge of state and Joint Commission licensing requirements.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills, public speaking abilities, and supervisory skills.
  • Ability to establish rapport, determine readiness for change, determine treatment priorities, explain client rights and obligations, assess clients and their progress, identify appropriate resources, assess risk to self and others, coordinate medical and psychiatric care, use medication-assisted therapy knowledge, deliver trauma-informed treatment, and understand developmental milestones for clients served in children and youth programs.
  • Ability to adhere to applicable laws, regulations, ethical codes, procedures, safety policies, and Joint Commission standards.
  • Ability to meet productivity expectations and use needs/problems lists to develop individualized goals.
Responsibilities
  • Supervise and direct clinical, prevention, and administrative personnel, including scheduling and coordinating activities, conducting performance reviews, and providing training.
  • Participate in or lead staff meetings, including treatment planning, case review, committee, and departmental meetings.
  • Plan and implement unit programming by identifying and addressing trends, resolving issues with existing programs, and developing new programs and services.
  • Monitor the unit's fiscal performance and maintain accurate related documentation.
  • Provide public relations support for the unit's clinical programs to employee assistance programs, agencies, referral sources, and the local community.
  • Ensure unit activities comply with state and Joint Commission licensing standards and participate in licensing review activities.
  • Identify unit training needs, develop corresponding training programs, and implement them.
  • Interview and hire new staff and handle personnel issues and grievances.
