Requirements
  • Must have a Ph.D. (or foreign equivalent) in biology, biomedical sciences or related discipline.
  • Must have a minimum of 1 year of experience teaching two or more of the courses noted above at the undergraduate level.
  • Must have expertise in integrating learning management systems into their courses.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as a commitment to undergraduate teaching and mentoring are required.
  • Development of a research program in the candidate’s area of expertise that incorporates undergraduate students is required.
  • All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment.
Responsibilities
  • Primary teaching responsibilities will be lecture and laboratory courses in General Biology.
  • Other teaching responsibilities may include Developmental Biology, Human Anatomy and Physiology, Vertebrate Embryology or other classes depending on departmental needs and successful applicant's areas of expertise.
  • Other duties include program assessment, service on committees, academic advising, outreach, and curriculum development including developing new upper division elective courses.
  • The successful candidate will be expected to develop a research program involving undergraduate students.
  • Candidates should clearly articulate in their letter of interest how their expertise/experience will align with mentoring undergraduate students at WVU Tech.
