  • Strong engineering background from industry or school, ideally in areas/fields such as Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics.
  • High ownership and autonomy across the end-to-end lifecycle of software development with a proven ability to synthesize detail oriented engineering content into executive level take aways.
  • At least 3+ years working with a variety of programming languages such as Rust, Go, C++, Java, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, etc.
  • Past software engineering experience. Ideally as an IC and manager.
  • Ability to quickly understand and navigate complex systems and established code bases.
  • Must be a U.S. Person because of required access to U.S. export controlled information.
Responsibilities
  • Work with a diverse team of systems engineers, software engineers, and mechanical / electrical engineers to define and build a software-first integration environment for autonomous air vehicles.
  • Develop a strong understanding of the customer CONOP and the important technical requirements of each of the software subsystems necessary to achieve this goal. The person will need to be able to create the schedule and communicate the technical status to government subject matter experts, including technical status Q&A.
  • Develop good working relationships with engineering and program leadership on several different IPT/functional teams.
  • Develop a good tech-lead relationship with multiple software engineers and other software engineering tech-leads. Generally, successful software engineering managers have been very hands-on and quite technical.
