Requirements
  • Completed high school education or equivalent.
  • One to two years of experience working with elderly people.
  • Good communication, comprehension, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English.
  • Working knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Office Suite, and the World Wide Web.
  • Ability to comply with applicable policies, procedures, federal, state, and local regulations, resident-rights requirements, privacy and security requirements, and HIPAA training requirements.
  • Ability to work in facility conditions involving noise, odors, illness, infection, and physical contact with disruptive residents.
Responsibilities
  • Assist the Director of Life Enrichment or Life Enrichment Leader in scheduling and developing life-enrichment activities.
  • Assist in recruiting, directing, and supervising volunteers.
  • Act on behalf of the Director of Life Enrichment when the Director is not in the facility.
  • Lead activities on scheduled workdays.
  • Collaborate and participate in policy creation and appropriate problem-solving methods.
  • Provide care and interactions that respect the dignity and rights of residents, clients, families, and staff.
  • Report resident or family complaints to the appropriate supervisors.
  • Report allegations of abuse, misappropriation of funds or resident property, and other compliance concerns.
  • Complete annual education requirements in a timely manner.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
