Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • A valid in-state driver's license is required where applicable.
  • For Clinical Laboratory Assistant Level II, demonstrated competency in all Level I and Level II tasks is required.
  • Analytical, statistical, personal organization, and problem-solving skills are required.
  • Proficient computer skills are required.
  • The ability to maintain confidentiality is required.
  • The ability to understand, follow, and give precise written and verbal instructions and perform activities safely is required.

  • The role requires sitting, standing, handling, finger dexterity, pinching, lifting or moving items up to 40 pounds, and occasional driving.
  • Travel is less than 5%.
Responsibilities
  • Perform assigned duties in compliance with internal standard operating procedures and external regulations and report compliance issues to management.
  • Maintain acceptable attendance and punctuality according to the absence policy.
  • Provide quality customer service.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation, perform data entry, and protect donor, patient, and employee confidentiality.
  • Prepare and maintain inventory.
  • Pack and ship supplies and specimens.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of equipment and work areas.
  • Assist with processing bio-waste, specimens, and microplates.
  • Receive and prepare samples as directed.
  • Unpack samples received from internal and external customers.
  • Accession samples received for testing and identify unacceptable or missing samples, labels, or paperwork.
  • Report sample, label, and paperwork discrepancies to the supervisor and assist with resolution.
  • Order laboratory reagents and supplies.
  • Perform sample receipt, accessioning, handling, and disposition.
  • Assist with equipment maintenance.
  • Communicate pertinent information to customers as directed.
  • Perform all other duties assigned by management.
Desired Qualifications
  • Trainer certification is preferred, but is required for Level IV positions in Plasma Services.
