About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Public Safety Liaison Lead based in London to join our dynamic team. This role requires a highly adaptable individual who thrives under minimal supervision.
As the Public Safety Liaison Lead, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping Uber’s engagement with law enforcement agencies across Europe, with a specific emphasis on the United Kingdom and Ireland. Your mission will involve crafting innovative strategies to foster collaboration with police and public health authorities while championing Uber’s unwavering dedication to safety, privacy, and transparency.
In this role you will:
- Forge Relationships with Law Enforcement: Build and sustain positive, open, and cooperative relationships with police and public safety leaders across Europe.
- Deliver Expert Training: Educate law enforcement teams on Uber’s processes, ensuring investigations are supported legally, ethically, and efficiently.
- Support Critical Incidents: Act as a key liaison during critical events such as protests or serious incidents, ensuring timely and effective communication with police.
- Enhance Community Safety: Guide internal teams on how best to collaborate with law enforcement to safeguard users and the wider community.
- Incident Management: Provide rapid response during emergencies, delivering thorough incident updates and post-incident analyses.
- Collaborate on Threat Management: Partner with Uber’s security team to identify and minimize potential risks to our people and properties.
- Travel Within Europe: Be prepared to travel for in-person meetings, trainings, and relationship-building initiatives across the region.
What You’ll Do
- Extensive Investigative Expertise: A minimum of 6+ years of hands-on experience in investigative roles, with proven knowledge of technical inquiries, communication strategies, and movement data analysis.
- Police Engagement Skills: Confidence and professionalism when interacting with police investigators and senior managers, fostering trust and collaboration.
- Legal Expertise: Experience presenting evidence in criminal proceedings and a solid understanding of UK legal systems and GDPR.
- Public/Private Partnership Insight: A history of working alongside industry or government partners to conduct joint investigations or community safety initiatives.
- Data Savviness: A foundational grasp of SQL is preferred, along with an ability to clearly articulate findings in written reports and oral briefings.
- Product Knowledge: A thorough understanding of Uber’s business model, privacy policies, and safety principles.
