Requirements
  • A Master's degree in a relevant field is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience conducting employment investigations is required; less experience may be considered for candidates with a Juris Doctor.
  • Knowledge of job-related legislation, regulations, and guidance.
  • Ability to learn new procedures, technologies, and protocols and adapt to changing priorities and work demands.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others and contribute to a team environment.
  • Proficiency using office software, technology, and relevant computer applications.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Responsibilities
  • Prepare investigative plans identifying the bases and issues involved, including the investigation scope, potential sources of evidence, and individuals to be interviewed.
  • Investigate internal and external complaints and charges involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and policy violations within established timelines.
  • Prepare responses to external charges and internal complaints for supervisor review and approval.
  • Maintain current knowledge of job-related legislation, regulations, and guidance to provide consultation and assistance to managers, supervisors, staff, faculty, and students.
  • Provide support, guidance, and training on employee relations and deliver training to human resources partners on human resources topics and practices.
  • Manage and administer tasks including resolving complaints and counseling individuals on University policies and procedures.
  • Liaise with Human Resources functional units, including Client Services, Recruitment, Records, Talent and Organizational Development, and Total Rewards.
  • Assist in managing the department's case management system, including accurately and compliantly entering, following up on, and closing case files.
  • Handle employee and organizational data confidentially and sensitively by carefully storing documents and disclosing confidential information only on a need-to-know basis.
  • Adhere to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguard University assets.
Desired Qualifications
