Requirements
- 5+ years of experience building prototype or small and/or production run vehicles
- An engineering degree in manufacturing, mechanical, Mechatronics or equivalent field or technicians certificate plus relevant experience and training
- Excellent working knowledge of mechanical and electronic components of vehicles
- Experience in working with safety critical robotic systems
- Experience in troubleshooting error codes and for different diagnostic codes and how to troubleshoot them
- Ability to think logically and remove bias from evaluation of problems - demonstrate problem-solving skills while isolating, documenting, and tracking issues systematically
- A driver's license with a clean driving record
- Proven experience as an auto mechanic
- Must be able to lift and move 50 lbs frequently
- Enthusiasm for the AV industry as well as safety/mobility
- Exemplary organizational and time management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A passion for continuous learning and improvement
Responsibilities
- Install autonomous sensors to the trucks (Radars, Lidars, Cameras, Modems, computers, antennas and other electronic components)
- Install wiring harnesses on the trucks
- Connect to the trucks to perform AV sensor bringup for firmware and software
- Perform end of line testing and system debugging, generate test reports
- Perform repairs according to work instructions and document results
- Troubleshoot error codes and for different diagnostic codes with the EOL tester
- Take the initiative in understanding, communicating, and resolving any vehicle issues and concerns
- Collaborate cross-functionally with other team members to develop technical solutions related to the operation and performance of autonomous vehicle systems
- Maintain the machine shop, tools and inventory needed for the shop
