Requirements

5+ years of experience building prototype or small and/or production run vehicles
An engineering degree in manufacturing, mechanical, Mechatronics or equivalent field or technicians certificate plus relevant experience and training
Excellent working knowledge of mechanical and electronic components of vehicles
Experience in working with safety critical robotic systems
Experience in troubleshooting error codes and for different diagnostic codes and how to troubleshoot them
Ability to think logically and remove bias from evaluation of problems - demonstrate problem-solving skills while isolating, documenting, and tracking issues systematically
A driver's license with a clean driving record
Proven experience as an auto mechanic
Must be able to lift and move 50 lbs frequently
Enthusiasm for the AV industry as well as safety/mobility
Exemplary organizational and time management skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
A passion for continuous learning and improvement

Responsibilities

Install autonomous sensors to the trucks (Radars, Lidars, Cameras, Modems, computers, antennas and other electronic components)
Install wiring harnesses on the trucks
Connect to the trucks to perform AV sensor bringup for firmware and software
Perform end of line testing and system debugging, generate test reports
Perform repairs according to work instructions and document results
Troubleshoot error codes and for different diagnostic codes with the EOL tester
Take the initiative in understanding, communicating, and resolving any vehicle issues and concerns
Collaborate cross-functionally with other team members to develop technical solutions related to the operation and performance of autonomous vehicle systems
Maintain the machine shop, tools and inventory needed for the shop

About the role:

The Role Description: Autonomous Vehicle/Robotics Technician:

The Technicians will help to set up assembly areas, build prototype components and systems, install those systems on the autonomous trucks, configure and bring up new vehicles, and perform end of line testing and system debugging.

Location: This role will be onsite 5 days a week at our Mountain View office

What you’ll do:
