Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience building prototype or small and/or production run vehicles
  • An engineering degree in manufacturing, mechanical, Mechatronics or equivalent field or technicians certificate plus relevant experience and training
  • Excellent working knowledge of mechanical and electronic components of vehicles
  • Experience in working with safety critical robotic systems
  • Experience in troubleshooting error codes and for different diagnostic codes and how to troubleshoot them
  • Ability to think logically and remove bias from evaluation of problems - demonstrate problem-solving skills while isolating, documenting, and tracking issues systematically
  • A driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Proven experience as an auto mechanic
  • Must be able to lift and move 50 lbs frequently
  • Enthusiasm for the AV industry as well as safety/mobility
  • Exemplary organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities
  • Install autonomous sensors to the trucks (Radars, Lidars, Cameras, Modems, computers, antennas and other electronic components)
  • Install wiring harnesses on the trucks
  • Connect to the trucks to perform AV sensor bringup for firmware and software
  • Perform end of line testing and system debugging, generate test reports
  • Perform repairs according to work instructions and document results
  • Troubleshoot error codes and for different diagnostic codes with the EOL tester
  • Take the initiative in understanding, communicating, and resolving any vehicle issues and concerns
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with other team members to develop technical solutions related to the operation and performance of autonomous vehicle systems
  • Maintain the machine shop, tools and inventory needed for the shop
