- 5+ years of experience with PHP and MySQL in production environments
- 2+ years of experience leading development teams or acting as a senior/lead developer
- Strong experience with CakePHP (v3+ ideally)
- Proficient in modern Vue.js (2.x or 3.x) and frontend tooling
- Deep understanding of MVC architecture, REST APIs, and application lifecycle
- Comfortable managing release processes, PR reviews, and team workflows
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative leadership style
- Lead and mentor a team of 3 developers
- Manage sprint planning, task allocation, and code reviews
- Foster a culture of clean code, maintainability, and continuous improvement
- Work closely with the product team to prioritize and scope features
- Write, review, and maintain high-quality code across the stack
- Ensure backend services (built in PHP 8.1 using CakePHP) are efficient, secure, and scalable
- Build and maintain modern frontend features using Vue.js
- Identify and implement development best practices and coding standards
- Guide CI/CD, deployment workflows, and version control processes
- Own the release cycle—ensure updates ship on time and with quality
- Track technical debt and plan for refactors and architectural improvements
- Stay up to date with evolving PHP and JS ecosystem trends to keep the platform modern
- Background in managing remote or hybrid teams
- Familiarity with scheduling platforms, e-commerce systems, or ERP software
- Experience with test-driven development, integration testing, and QA workflows
- Passion for diving or knowledge of the diving industry
