Blee builds social connections around nearby people who share interests. The project started in 2018 and used a mobile app that leveraged Bluetooth to discover and connect with others in the same area to enable spontaneous activities and in-person meetups. The app surfaced nearby users and interest-based events, aiming to foster local communities through real-time proximity networking. Compared with other social apps, Blee focused on immediate, location-based interactions rather than broad online-only networks, and relied on Bluetooth technology to detect nearby users. As of 2021, activity on its channels faded and the domain blee.com redirected elsewhere, indicating a shift or shutdown of the original service. The goal was to create tangible local connections and community building by helping people meet nearby with shared interests.

Blee Partners With Betterment to Scale Trustworthy Financial Communication

Blee partners with Betterment to scale trustworthy financial communication. Blee Team Blee is proud to announce a new partnership with Betterment, the trusted wealth and savings platform used by over 1 million customers. Betterment has chosen Blee's AI-powered compliance platform to help scale their marketing compliance review process as they continue empowering people to build wealth with confidence and ease. For years, Betterment has led the way in making investing accessible to everyone. The company serves three distinct markets: retail investors through their award-winning web and mobile platform, small to mid-sized businesses with 401(k) solutions via Betterment at Work, and independent RIAs through their custodial platform, Betterment Advisor Solutions. Each audience brings unique needs and regulatory considerations. Operating across these three business lines in a heavily regulated industry presents a distinct challenge: every customer touchpoint - whether it's a product announcement, blog post, or educational content - must be clear, accurate, and meet rigorous compliance standards. Maintaining that level of oversight while delivering timely, helpful communication at scale requires modern infrastructure. This partnership will allow Betterment to integrate Blee's AI platform directly into their workflow, enhancing and streamlining the compliance guardrails that protect customer trust. "At Betterment, our commitment to our customers is our north star. As we scale, maintaining the highest standard of review for all our marketing material is critical," said Brian Woldow, Chief Compliance Officer at Betterment. "We're partnering with Blee to integrate their AI platform into our workflow, which will empower our teams to move faster and more efficiently, without compromising on the trust and transparency our customers expect." Blee, Inc. is thrilled to support Betterment as they continue building a more transparent and customer-centric future for financial services.
