Requirements
  • Current Wastewater Treatment Level I minimum certification, with proof of certification required.
  • Ability to lift 25 kilograms (55 pounds).
  • Intermediate to advanced mechanical knowledge.
  • Ability to work under pressure quickly and efficiently.
  • Microsoft Office program experience.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal forms.
  • Proven ability to supervise and communicate with staff members.
Responsibilities
  • Conduct the daily operation and maintenance of the water and wastewater facilities under the guidance of the supervisor.
  • Carry out daily facility operations, including regulatory monitoring and reporting, process adjustments, chemical transferring, and maintenance.
  • Provide operational support and troubleshooting for plant operations.
  • Maintain required inventory and inventory control of critical spare parts, chemicals, and consumables.
  • Create maintenance requests and assist the Technical Services Group in developing work-scope quotations for work within the plant facility.
  • Monitor lift stations as required.
  • Monitor storm ponds as required.
  • Complete and compile daily inspection, monitoring, and sampling data as required.
  • Perform maintenance tasks requested by the supervisor.
  • Perform laboratory analysis and reporting.
  • Prepare weekly, monthly, and annual reports as required.
  • Provide training and mentorship to plant operational staff.
  • Participate in required meetings, both in person and remotely.
  • Participate in, enforce, and comply with all aspects of the company's health and safety program.
  • Work a 10-days-on, 4-days-off rotation, generally from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Desired Qualifications
  • Training certificates in H2S, First Aid, Confined Space, and Transportation of Dangerous Goods.
  • Supervisor safety training courses are considered an asset.
