Opportunity:
For Talend to achieve our next phase of growth, exceptional leadership is paramount. Talend is seeking a strategic and innovative Senior Vice President of Engineering to deliver high impact, high quality products to our customers while leading a growing team of engineers. The Senior Vice President of Engineering will report directly to the CTO, and serve as a key contributor on Talend’s senior leadership team in driving growth at scale and cultivating a high performance, innovative culture.
What you’ll be doing:
·Setting a vision and ensuring our roadmaps align with it
·Developing a vision in collaboration with engineering team and other stakeholders.
·Ideating and driving strategic initiatives to improve processes and organization.
·Developing a deep understanding of Talend’s markets, customers, their needs, their go-to-market activities, and advocating for them.
·Innovating and disrupting on behalf of our customers and offering a differentiated solution.
·Developing and maintaining a high performing engineering organization
·Reinforcing a culture that puts the customer first, sets a high bar for performance and promotes innovation.
·Recruiting and developing talent that makes our organization stronger, with improved cross-engineering team collaboration to be better aligned with our long-term priorities.
·Ensuring the retention of top talent, addressing all aspects of employee engagement and satisfaction.
·Developing processes, systems and modern architectures and frameworks that enable faster development, higher quality, better reliability, rational retirement of technical debt to improve developer productivity; collaborating effectively with operations group to accomplish these goals.
·Collaborating with engineering team to reinforce feedback loops and improve effectiveness of product development process.
·Managing relationships with vendors and ensuring the team adopts the right tools and technologies.
We’re interested if you have:
·12+ years of relevant work experience in engineering management, of which 5 years were leading large engineering team, preferably at a B2B SaaS company.
·Direct experience with data infrastructure software or infrastructure software is desired, as is experience with products offered both via SaaS and self-service.
·Creative, strategic, innovative, and not afraid to take chances, with a strong ability to execute and deliver bottom line results.
·Experience in engaging and evangelizing domain areas with external customers, analysts, and partners in large forums.
·Experience of growth, transition, and innovation within a mid to large organization
·Comfortable working in a distributed, global team with the ability to foster a culture of innovation and collaboration with all parties while creating an environment of continuous improvement.
·Curiosity and an open mind together with empathy, transparency, and a good sense of humor
·Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. An accomplished presenter who can successfully articulate the vision, product and strategy, as well as the critical issues and priorities.
·You should have strong leadership skills, collaboration skills, vision, design, marketing and evangelizing skills.
·Demonstrated experience hiring, managing, developing, and retaining highly technical and globally distributed staff.
·Outstanding people skills: a driver personality with EQ, cultural awareness, executive acumen, and presence – ability to fit with strong personalities and a leader.
