Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
  • Professional Engineer status with the ability to become licensed in multiple states.
  • At least 10 years of mechanical engineering experience associated with pipelines and associated facilities.
  • At least 5 years of experience in brownfield or greenfield compressor station projects.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to communicate and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
  • The ability to mentor less experienced engineers and designers.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making abilities, attention to detail, and a focus on delivering high-quality engineering solutions.
  • Knowledge of industry standards for designing oil and gas pipelines and facilities.
  • Subject-matter expertise in 49 CFR Parts 192 and 195.
  • Strong writing skills and experience preparing project execution plans, design basis memoranda, technical reports, and engineering specifications.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites as needed to support engineering activities and project execution.
Responsibilities
  • Lead and oversee mechanical engineering activities throughout the project lifecycle, from concept development through execution and closeout.
  • Develop engineering design specifications, calculations, and drawings in compliance with applicable codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and designers.
  • Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to develop project scopes, schedules, and budgets and ensure timely delivery of engineering deliverables.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and mitigation measures associated with decommissioning activities.
  • Review and evaluate vendor proposals and technical documentation for alignment with project requirements and specifications.
  • Interface with clients, regulatory agencies, and third-party contractors to address technical inquiries, resolve engineering issues, and facilitate project approvals.
  • Participate in project meetings, design reviews, and HAZOP/HAZID sessions to support communication and coordination among project teams.
  • Monitor project progress and performance metrics and identify opportunities for optimization and efficiency improvements.
  • Ensure engineering activities follow company policies and procedures for safety, quality, and environmental stewardship.
