Requirements
  • At least 3 years of previous automotive technician experience is required.
  • Factory training certification is a plus.
  • ASE and air-conditioning certifications are a plus.
  • CSI and quality scores must be above the regional average.
  • Must have basic tools.
  • Must be proficient in all vehicle maintenance services.
  • Production averaging must exceed 100%.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and a safe driving record.
  • Must pass pre-employment background screening.
Responsibilities
  • Understand and complete routine repairs necessary for customer vehicles.
  • Perform general repairs and diagnosis with some assistance, including light engine work, transmissions, clutches, drive shafts, electrical systems such as starters and alternators, HVAC systems, and steering and suspension systems.
  • Document all work performed and recommended on assigned repair orders.
  • Accurately complete the multi-point inspection form for each vehicle.
  • Communicate with the service advisor when additional work is needed or repairs cannot be completed within the promised time.
  • Maintain technician proficiency according to company standards.
  • Conduct road tests to determine required work and confirm successful repairs when necessary and practical.
  • Perform all levels of vehicle diagnosis and repair.
  • Perform all levels of preventive and routine maintenance services.
  • Complete assigned product and technical training.
  • Participate in manufacturer-sponsored training programs and schools to expand knowledge of new technology.
  • Maintain the manufacturer Customer Satisfaction Index at or above specified district, regional, and national goals.
  • Complete the work, notations, and timekeeping necessary for warranty repair orders and warranty claims.
  • Report situations or conditions that could jeopardize the safety, welfare, or integrity of the dealership, customers, or employees.
  • Ensure customer vehicles are returned as clean as they were before service.
  • Complete required training for compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including hazardous-waste disposal and OSHA Right-to-Know requirements.
  • Comply with federal, state, and local laws and company policies concerning customer vehicles, property, and information.
  • Perform other duties assigned by management.
