Requirements
  • A Bachelor's Degree is required, preferably in Education, Youth Development, Social Work, or a related discipline.
  • A Master's Degree and teaching experience are required for Dean 1.
  • Experience working with school-age children is required.
  • Administrative and/or supervisory experience working in a school or educational setting is required.
  • Demonstrated leadership and organizational skills and the ability to motivate people are required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to relate well with students, staff, administration, parents, and the community are required.
  • Experience with student-based data tracking technologies is required.
Responsibilities
  • Provide and supervise, in a fair and consistent manner, an effective discipline system with high standards, consistent with the philosophy, values, and mission of the school and district, and in accordance with due process and other laws and regulations.
  • Support Academic Advisors in implementing the school-wide plan for creating a positive culture of behavior in the school.
  • Work with teachers, staff, the social worker, parent coordinator, and curriculum and professional development coordinator to develop and implement the school-wide plan for creating a positive culture.
  • Immediately notify appropriate personnel and agencies, and follow established procedures, when there is evidence of substance abuse, child abuse, child neglect, severe medical or social conditions, potential suicide, or individuals appearing to be under the influence of alcohol, controlled substances, or anabolic steroids.
  • Establish professional rapport with students and staff, and display high ethical and professional standards when working with students, parents, school personnel, and agencies associated with the school.
  • Support the development of a safe, orderly environment that encourages students to take responsibility for their behavior and creates high morale among staff and students.
  • Maintain positive, cooperative, and mutually supportive relationships with central administration, parents, and representatives of resource agencies within the community.
