Requirements
  • The candidate must hold an active Registered Nurse license issued in the state of Maryland.
  • The candidate must have a nursing degree from an accredited college or university.
  • A new graduate with at least one year of experience after obtaining the license will be considered.
  • The candidate must hold a current cardiopulmonary resuscitation license.
  • The candidate must complete training programs approved by a Medical Director and the governing body, as required, before operating the water treatment system.
  • The candidate must have basic computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Responsibilities
  • Supervise and perform direct patient care, including taking vital signs; initiating and terminating dialysis; documenting care; performing physical assessments of patients and treatments; taking and transcribing physician orders; and performing blood draws and documenting ordered laboratory work.
  • Assess patients' general physical and mental condition, review dialysis orders, and document observations in patient medical records.
  • Analyze patient assessments and laboratory data and bring concerns to the attention of physicians.
  • Communicate emergencies, life-threatening patient complications, and related incidents to the supervisor, Medical Director, and Regional Director.
  • Assess patient and family learning readiness and provide appropriate information about renal disease, prescribed dialysis treatment, and the medical regimen and its impact on the patient's health and well-being.
  • Provide dialysis therapy by formulating dialysis plans according to physician orders; determining weight and ultrafiltration rates; verifying safety measures; administering medications or other treatments; disconnecting dialysis according to established procedures; and documenting all activity.
  • Educate patients on pre-dialysis and post-dialysis care.
  • Administer quality patient care in a considerate and respectful manner.
  • Participate in developing and implementing patients' short-term and long-term plans.

  • Two years of dialysis experience is preferred.
