Requirements
  • Ability to communicate effectively and perform simple arithmetic.
  • At least one year of experience as a prep cook with dishwasher responsibilities in a hotel, restaurant, club, or similar institution.
  • Ability to plan and organize work and interpret instructions, recipes, specifications, and standards.
  • Knowledge of kitchen equipment operation and maintenance.
  • Food handlers certification.
  • Basic understanding of English.
  • Ability to stand and walk for 100% of the workday.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds independently.
  • Ability to push and pull bus carts and tray carts weighing up to 100 pounds independently.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and balance frequently throughout the workday.
  • Ability to perform sweeping and mopping functions.
  • Ability to work indoors and tolerate hot and cold temperature changes, industrial cleaning chemicals, and hot water temperatures.
Responsibilities
  • Perform pot washing, dishwashing, general cleaning duties, and storage of food and non-food supplies.
  • Maintain the assigned workstation in a safe and sanitary condition.
  • Maintain acceptable personal hygiene standards and comply with the department dress code.
  • Attend assigned in-service training and education sessions.
  • Perform specific work duties and responsibilities assigned by the supervisor.
