The Wealth Strategist / Client Development Sales Executive is responsible for cultivating relationships with individuals, families and non-profit institutions.
This person will lead new client development and introduce Northern Trust’s advice-driven approach for partnering with clients. Top performers self-source prospects, leverage our talent depth and breadth to highlight a Northern Trust client experience, demonstrate strong listening skills and have a relentless attention to the details. In addition to self-sourcing, the Wealth Strategist / Client Development Sales Executive is expected to collaborate with colleagues who identify opportunities, quarterbacking the sales experience for the team. She or he maintains contact with clients with a goal of deepening relationships. The person will serve as a brand ambassador in the St. Louis community, actively engaging as a leader for local civic and philanthropic organizations.
Major Duties:
- Executes an advice-based branding strategy delivered to prospective clients.
- Articulates and presents the full capabilities and services of Northern Trust to members of the community, external advisors and prospective clients.
- Cultivates external and internal professional and personal networks to identify and develop prospective new client relationships as well as existing client relationships.
- Develops deep understanding of the prospective client’s financial picture and needs to determine the best advice
- Maintains current in-depth knowledge of a full range of trust-oriented services (e.g., personal trusts, living trusts, wills, investment management, custody, financial consulting, estate and tax planning).
The ideal candidate will benefit from having the following competencies:
- Candidates should have 5 or more years of sales and relationship management experience.
- Candidates should have knowledge of fiduciary capabilities and services (e.g., personal trusts, living trusts, wills, investment management, custody, financial consulting, estate and tax planning), including fee structures and documentation.
- This position requires Series 7 and 63 licenses. Please note that the FINRA 66 License includes the 63 and 65. However, in this role we do not need the FINRA 65 License of the FINRA 66 License, hence, we do not carry it.
- Professional designations such as CFP, CFTA, CFA, CIMA are preferred.
