Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Solar experience is required.
  • Three years of experience in heavy civil, mechanical, and/or electrical construction for utility-scale solar projects is required.
  • Familiarity with the Three-Phase Program of inspection is required.
  • Knowledge of the applicable company quality control program is required.
  • Ability to determine the acceptability or rejectability of work based on assigned criteria is required.
  • Previous quality control inspection experience is required.
  • Familiarity with codes and standards applicable to specific construction activities is expected.
  • Ability to write detailed reports and use computer systems to access, research, and document results electronically is required.
  • The candidate must have strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • The candidate must be willing to travel and relocate to fulfill the position's requirements.
  • The candidate must maintain a valid driver's license and any required endorsement.
  • The candidate must successfully complete required safety certification and testing annually.
  • The candidate must pass the applicable pre-employment background check, motor vehicle report review, physical or medical evaluation, and drug screen.
  • The candidate must meet the physical requirements, including walking on uneven surfaces, climbing ladders or stairs, sitting and standing for extended periods, kneeling, bending, squatting, passing required color and vision examinations, distinguishing auditory signals, working around loud noise and heavy or moving machinery, and working outdoors in all weather conditions.
Responsibilities
  • Control the quality of all construction work under the direction of the QC Manager.
  • Remain dedicated full time to the construction project with responsibilities limited to quality-related duties.
  • Maintain construction quality control documentation, including reports, completed submittals, and approved shop drawings, in a controlled and secure documentation system.
  • Identify and implement project-specific quality management needs beyond ISO 9001:2015 when needed.
  • Conduct daily inspections and surveillance of construction and testing activities and suppliers or manufacturers in accordance with contract and specification requirements.
  • Report all safety violations to the immediate supervisor.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • A four-year college degree or equivalent field experience is preferred.
  • Quality control inspection certifications from the Department of Transportation, American Society for Quality, or other recognized training institutions are preferred.
  • Bilingual ability is a plus.
