Requirements
  • High school graduate or possess the G.E.D.
  • At least one year of experience as an instrument processor or Surgical Technologist.
  • Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) certification issued through International Association of Healthcare Central Service Material Management (IAHCSMM) or Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) certification issued through The Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) required upon hire, or must obtain certification within 6 months of hire is required.
  • Computer Skills: Requires thorough working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, TECHSYS and Censitrac tracking and be capable of learning software programs and/or hardware as required.
  • Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) certification issued through International Association of Healthcare Central Service Material Management (IAHCSMM) or Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) certification issued through The Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) required upon hire, or must obtain certification within 6 months of hire is required.

Responsibilities
  • Coordination and oversight of daily activities between the Operating Room and Sterile Processing Departments to facilitate efficient case flow, through efficient case cart assembly and decontamination, assembly and sterilization/high level disinfection of all reprocessed surgical inventory.
  • Responsible for assisting in projects and process improvement.
  • Promotes customer service and patient satisfaction through effective communication with Operating Room clinical operations and multiple sterile processing departments across the Medical Center.
  • Also responsible for ordering, procuring and organizing instrument trays on a global level to service the entire Enterprise.
