Requirements
- Lead a small but mighty team of talented pharmacy compliance professionals; (3 People)
- Develop pharmacy compliance systems and standards, and design improvements to existing internal control structures
- Take Alto's compliance program to the next level by maturing Alto's enterprise risk management processes
- Partner with clinical, operational, engineering, product, marketing and finance stakeholders to to design a compliance and risk management strategy that is aligned with business objectives and right-sized for our business
- Design internal audit, policies and trainings that will put Alto on its best foot forward
- Stay informed of pertinent healthcare regulatory changes and partner with cross functional teams to implement necessary changes
- Create training and communications around regulatory changes and compliance best practices
- Assist pharmacy locations with audit preparedness (DEA/State Board of Pharmacy)
- Ensure Alto's compliance function supports pharmacists in charge responding to regulatory audit deficiencies as necessary
- Ensure that Alto's compliance function includes expertise in internal audit, policies; risk assessments; Board of Pharmacy, DEA and FDA regulations as well as HIPAA and healthcare fraud and abuse
- Oversee ongoing management of accreditation standards
- Utilize program management skills, experience, and methodologies to run successful projects through planning, resource management, meeting planning/facilitation, conflict resolution, risk mitigation, and status reporting for a growing healthcare entity
- Develop cross-functional pharmacy programs from inception to implementation, including collaboration with executive and operational stakeholders to drive compliant policies, procedures, workflows and training
- Effectively interface with executive audiences, program sponsors and business leads to reach mutually acceptable agreements on objectives, scope, deliverables, timeframes, resources and outcomes
- Provide subject matter expertise in Pharmacy industry regulation, translation and application to practices at Alto
- PharmD degree
- 9+ years experience in a pharmacy compliance role in a healthcare environment, ideally retail pharmacy
- 5+ years managing a team
- Business thinker and teacher
- Tech savvy
- Demonstrable track-record of leading or participating in the design and implementation of compliant pharmacy programs
- Strong knowledge of multi-jurisdictional pharmacy laws and enforcement
- Excellent communication and ability to build partnerships with internal stakeholders
- Read English, comprehend, and follow simple oral and written instructions. The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading. Assessing the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work assigned
- Communicating with others to exchange information. Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; those activities where detailed or important spoken instructions must be conveyed to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly
- Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction, and having the ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and making fine discriminations in sound
- The ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech and/or other sounds (e.g., phone conversations)
- Frequent repeating motions required to operate a computer that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers
- Sedentary work: Sitting most of the time, exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Walking and standing are required only occasionally
